Microsoft's .NET technology provides the ability to quickly build, deploy, manage, and use connected, security-enhanced solutions. Leveraging this technology, Quest can rapidly develop scalable applications that are agile enough to meet current and future needs.

The original Toad for Oracle application was written in Delphi, and some of its components cannot view Unicode data. Delphi does not plan to support Unicode data. Internationalization is a major priority and concern for Quest, and C# provides us with this functionality out of the box. Microsoft .Net also provides improved support for side-by-side installs and allows for a more complete uninstall of components. In addition, it was also an easier transition to move from Delphi to C# rather than port existing code to C++.

Auto Replace SQL

Create a list of frequently misspelled words or substitute terms that when typed, are replaced by the full text phrase or a complete statement. This is also useful if you want to use shortcut terms to populate your code with a larger amount of frequently used code.

Code Completion Templates

Create custom, complex templates that contain line feeds, substitution variables, and position indicators that can be invoked from the Editor.

SQL Recall

Add recently executed SQL statements to the Editor.

Multi-Server (Group) Execute

Execute one or more scripts in the Editor against multiple servers or multiple databases on a server.
