SQL Editor

The SQL Editor window consists of three sections: a Code Navigator window, the main text edit window, and a data grid.

The code navigator displays an outline view of the editor's contents and allows efficient navigation of large files.

The text edit window supports standard windows editing commands and keystrokes, and provides:

• Automatic Statement completion
• DB2 syntax highlighting
• Statement formatting
• Object description pop-ups via the F4 key
• SQL statement recall
• Code completion templates
• Code snippets

The data grid displays statement execution output. It displays multiple script result sets and explain plans. Grid contents can be saved to multiple formats.

Query Builder

The Query Builder is a fast way to create the framework for select, insert, update, and delete statements for tables, views, and synonyms. In addition, column select and join syntax generation is simplified. The SQL Modeler also provides:

• Multi-select and drag-n-drop functionality for adding tables, views, and functions
• Join definition automation
• Explain plan statistics generation
• Query alteration via the SQL Editor
• View creation via a generated query

Database Browser

The Database Browser provides catalog information for specified objects. The left pane contains a list of the objects for the selected tab, while the right pane displays catalog information for the object. It also serves as the launch point for creating, altering, and dropping objects.

Export Utility

The Export Utility wizard provides a single common interface to select file formats (including database-neutral formats such as INSERT statements or Comma Separated Values [CSV] files) when exporting table data. The wizard also supports exporting the same formats to a clipboard. The Utility writes to fixed or variable width files, and can be configured to include column headers and to specify file CODECs.

Project Manager

The Project Manager provides quick and easy access to databases, to the SQL Dictionary, to DB2 Help (if you are connected to a DB2 instance), and to associated project files.

Schema Comparison

The Schema Comparison feature provides a quick and easy way to compare schema based objects. This feature makes it easy to identify object differences and synchronize source and target objects.

Object Migration

The Migration Wizard provides an easy way to migrate object definitions and optionally their data from one DB2 on LUW database to another, or from one DB2 on z/OS subsystem to another.  Advanced object filtering, transformation mappings and options give you the flexibility to handle complex migration tasks. 

ER Diagrammer

The ER Diagrammer allows you to easily view relationships between objects.  You can define objects and relationships or easily view existing object relationships.

DB2 on LUW Command Generation and Execution

The LUW Command Generation and Execution features allows you to quickly and easily generate and execute frequently used DB2 on LUW commands.

DB2 on z/OS Plan and Package Support

The Plans and Packages features allows you to easily BIND, REBIND, FREE, and DROP DB2 on z/OS Plans and Packages using interfaces that are quick and simple to use.
