.Net Framework
When installing Toad for DB2, if the .Net prerequisite is not met, the installer will direct you to a webpage that gives a link to download the .Net v2.0 framework

Freeware Expiration
The Toad for DB2 Freeware edition never expires. When we release a new version of the freeware, you could choose to upgrade to it.

Unicode support
Toad for DB2 supports Unicode DB2 databases.

DB2 Client
Toad for DB2 installs an IBM DB2 client during installation. Toad then uses this client so you do not need an IBM DB2 client installed on the machine before you install Toad for DB2. The IBM DB2 client version installed with Toad for DB2 v4.6 is DB2 v9.7 fixpack 1. The typical IBM requirements for installing a DB2 v9.7 client are enforced. For example, your machine may not have an IBM DB2 v7 (or less) client installed.
