 Introducing TeamT
What it is
TeamT will be a one year pilot program to help the Toad development team to manage the Toad (and to a lesser degree Toad Beta) Yahoo Groups. It will consist of a small team composed of those Toad users who have demonstrated an outstanding willingness to help others on the boards. For those who are familiar with TeamBorland (TeamB), that is the inspiration behind this program.
Why we're doing it
To ensure the users are taken care of on the boards as group membership grows beyond our capacity to manage it. To return more of the boards back to the users. To ensure the boards don't become a Quest Support forum. In the future it will also provide us with a highly concentrated core team to draw upon to help us keep our finger on the pulse of the user base while trying to dedicate more time to product development.
Who they are
Membership is by invitation only, and limited to 5 for the pilot program. Members identify themselves on the boards by using the [TeamT] signature moniker.
Why they're doing it
These are individuals who already receive a lot of satisfaction from helping others. This formalizes it and recognizes their contributions. In return they will also enjoy a higher degree of access to the development team, fame, notoriety, beer-of-the-month club memberships... no wait. It also opens up an incentive for other users to grow in their participation on the boards and in their product expertise.
What they do
Their primary responsibility is to help support users on the boards. They'll also be given latitude in managing the groups and may eventually become forum moderators as well.
